Brazilian municipalities launch temporary hiring drives for fire‑fighting and Indigenous assistance roles

The municipal government of Ribeiro Gonçalves in Piauí published an open tender for 13 temporary positions to strengthen forest‑fire prevention and combat teams. Applicants must pass physical tests and will receive a 30% hazard‑pay premium on the base salary of R$1,621 to R$3,242. The registration period is 6–10 July 2026, with subsequent selection stages ending by late July.

In Amajari, Roraima, the city announced a separate tender for 22 temporary staff to support the Municipal Social Assistance Secretariat and the Yanomami Indigenous Territory. Positions range from coordinator, social worker and psychologist (salary R$3,500) to administrative and general support roles (salary R$1,621). Applications are free and run from 10–14 July 2026, with contracts initially set for 12 months and possible extensions.

Both hiring drives aim to reinforce local public‑service capacity during the dry season and to improve assistance to vulnerable communities.
