Brazilian municipalities offer free pet spaying and neutering services

Municipalities in Brazil are implementing programs to provide free spaying and neutering services for dogs and cats to control animal populations and promote welfare.

In Hidrolândia, the Municipal Kennel offers a continuous program that includes pre-operative exams and surgery at no cost to local residents. The facility serves as a public veterinary clinic and animal shelter, providing rescue services, vaccinations, and adoption assistance. Residents must register in person at the Municipal Kennel to join a waiting list.

In Laguna, a mobile unit known as Castramóvel will conduct a mass neutering event on November 6 at the Igreja Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes. The initiative targets 11 neighborhoods, with registration taking place between October 19 and October 23 at the Animal Welfare Management office and various family health units.
