Brazilian municipalities prepare for Semana da Pátria 2026

Municipalities in Brazil are preparing for the 2026 Semana da Pátria (Homeland Week) celebrations.

In Farroupilha, the local government and the Secretariat of Education will host a Scout Council Fire on August 31 at the Pavilhão do Agricultor. This ceremony involves various scout groups and serves as part of the broader celebrations themed “Nossa Terra, Nossa História: das Raízes Missioneiras às Conquistas de Hoje”. The festivities include flag-raising ceremonies and will culminate in a traditional civic parade on September 7.

In Dourados, the Secretariat of Municipal Education has organized a program beginning September 1. The schedule includes the lighting of the Flame of the Homeland, a relay involving municipal school students, and ceremonies at Praça Antônio João. The week will feature civic hours, cultural presentations, and military band performances, concluding with a civic-military parade on September 7 to celebrate Brazil's Independence.
