Brazilian Parliamentary Front Visits Venâncio Aires Court to Boost Domestic Violence Prevention

On 6 August, the Frente Parlamentar de Combate à Violência Doméstica e Aplicação da Lei Maria da Penha visited the 3ª Vara Judicial of the Venâncio Aires district. The delegation, chaired by PSB parliamentarian Elígio Weschenfelder, met with the presiding judge, Dra. Sandra Regina Moreira, to observe the court’s handling of domestic and family‑violence cases.

The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between the legislative and judicial branches, review the application of the Maria da Penha Law, and discuss protective measures and case‑flow procedures for victims. Organizers said the exchange should help refine legislative actions and improve public policies that protect women in the municipality.
