Brazilian parties launch candidates for federal and state legislatures
The centre‑right party União Brasil introduced Professor Raquel Rocha, vice‑mayor of São Mateus in Espírito Santo, as its pre‑candidate for the Chamber of Deputies. The launch, held at her home, attracted about 500 attendees and featured party leader Marcelo Santos, who highlighted the aim of increasing female representation and strengthening the party’s presence in the northern part of the state.
In the Amazon state, the Avante party held a rally at the Arena Avante in Manaus where entrepreneur Katy Feitoza announced her candidacy for the state legislature. Around 1,500 people gathered, and Avante state president David Almeida praised her focus on women’s entrepreneurship, health policies and obesity prevention. Both events emphasized community engagement and the parties’ strategies ahead of upcoming elections.
