Brazilian police seize large quantities of tirzepatide

The Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) have conducted two separate seizures of large quantities of tirzepatide, a medication often used for weight loss, in different regions of the country.

In Marmeleiro, Paraná, authorities discovered approximately 9,600 vials hidden in a false bottom of a trailer. The individuals involved were arrested and taken to the Federal Police station in Santo Antônio do Sudoeste. The seized goods and vehicles were transferred to the Federal Revenue Service.

In a separate incident on the Presidente Dutra highway in Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro, officers seized roughly 655 vials of the same medication. During the inspection, the driver fled into a wooded area and was not located. Authorities noted that the medication requires continuous refrigeration, a condition that was not met during transport. The seizure is part of an integrated security operation involving multiple southeastern states to combat organized crime.
