The seized weapons were discovered hidden within a cargo van traveling from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, camouflaged among legitimate goods. The arsenal included 11 rifles—specifically one .50 caliber rifle capable of penetrating armor and aircraft, and 10 G3 7,62 mm rifles—as well as one MP5 9mm submachine gun, along with various magazines and accessories.

Preliminary investigations indicate the shipment was destined for territories controlled by the Comando Vermelho criminal faction. The driver was arrested in flagrante and faces charges under the Disarmament Statute. This operation is part of the Missão Redentor II Task Force, which aims to disrupt heavy weaponry supply routes into the state of Rio de Janeiro in accordance with Supreme Federal Court measures.
