The Ministry of Education, through the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA), announced that 26 gold‑medal winners of the 20th edition of the Brazilian Public School Math Olympiad (OBMEP) may apply for a study‑exchange program in Zhejiang Province, China. Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 28 November 2026, be enrolled in a public school during the 2025 academic year, and participate in either the Junior Scientific Initiation Program or the OBMEP Mentors Program in 2026. Selection involves document review, assessment of prior competition experience, and group and individual interviews. The exchange, running from 30 November to 13 December 2026, includes academic, scientific and cultural activities at Chinese institutions, with all travel, accommodation, meals, internal transport and insurance fully funded by IMPA and the Zhejiang education department. The 26 places are allocated regionally across Brazil (North 5, Northeast 7, Central‑West 4, Southeast 6, South 4) and aim to promote gender equity.

Applications are accepted online until 31 July, after which successful candidates will be notified based on the two‑stage selection process.
