Brazilian School Games Showcase Medal Wins in Minas Gerais and Roraima
Student‑athletes from João Monlevade secured two individual medals at the state stage of the Minas Gerais School Games (JEMG) held July 14‑18. Swimmer Eros Izidro won the 50‑metre breaststroke, while triple‑jump specialist Cid de Oliveira earned bronze, both praised by the municipal Sports Secretary for their dedication and the city’s continued investment in youth sport.
In Roraima, the School Games in Boa Vista concluded on July 21 after gathering more than 2,000 participants from the capital and interior. The futsal titles went to Escola Estadual Euclides da Cunha (boys) and Escola Indígena José Marcolino (girls), with Neymar Nascimento finishing as the tournament’s top scorer. Escola Estadual Lobo D’Almada dominated the volleyball competition, winning every match and earning a spot in the next stage. Badminton champions were crowned from Caracaraí, with Iara Ketlen de Moraes winning the girls’ category and Holvyvier Lukas Castro taking the boys’ title.
