Since late June 2026 Brazil has accelerated municipal and state‑level sport programmes to nurture talent, boost community ties and spur local economies. In late July, Paragominas hosted the XV Jogos Abertos do Pará with about 800 athletes, and Pará de Minas staged the sixth Copa América de Escolas Oficiais, a scouting platform for a professional club’s youth academy.

Inter‑neighbourhood football tournaments continued in Itabuna (R$47,000 prize pool) and Goiânia (R$20,000 prizes, uniforms for top teams). Early August saw the state stage of the Jogos Escolares e Paraescolares begin in João Pessoa, Paraíba, and a municipal school‑games event in Brejo da Madre de Deus, Pernambuco, extending the nationwide push for youth sport development and inclusion.
