Brazilian Senate candidates address Supreme Court impeachment debates

Brazilian Senate candidates are addressing the potential impeachment of Supreme Federal Court (STF) ministers. Nabor Wanderley, a candidate for the Republicanos party, stated that the Senate must approach any impeachment proceedings with extreme caution and responsibility to preserve institutional harmony. Wanderley argued that the Supreme Court has frequently interfered in the competencies of the National Congress and the Presidency.

In a separate movement, Eli Borges, a Republicanos candidate for the Senate in Tocantins, has launched a national online petition calling for the impeachment of Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The petition, which runs for three days, aims to gather signatures to be presented to the Chamber of Deputies in Brasília. Borges stated the initiative is intended to move the debate from social media to a formal document to measure public support for the movement.
