Brazilian Senator Alan Rick honored by Embrapa Acre amid court-ordered removal of his campaign ads
Senator Alan Rick (Republicanos‑AC) was honored on 26 May at Embrapa Acre's 50‑year anniversary ceremony in Rio Branco. He received a plaque recognizing his role in strengthening agricultural research, securing R$30.2 million in amendments for Embrapa projects, and supporting budget restoration and tax exemptions for the agency.
Separately, Brazil’s Electoral Justice issued a preliminary injunction ordering the immediate removal of around 30 outdoor and digital billboards used by Rick in his pre‑candidacy for Acre governor. The court deemed the ads early electoral propaganda, imposing a daily fine of R$5,000 and barring further similar advertising pending further review.
