Brazilian short films 'Ajude os Menor' and 'Eclipse' tackle work and gender violence

In Recife, the thriller "Eclipse" by filmmaker Djin Sganzerla premiered at the Cinema da Fundação. The movie follows an astronomer discovering her husband’s hidden life and addresses gender‑based violence through a personal, genre‑driven narrative. Both projects reflect a growing trend in Brazilian independent cinema to address social issues through genre conventions.
