Brazilian State Auditors Launch Training Programs for Public Servants

The Tribunal de Contas de Santa Catarina (TCE/SC) began an immersive training cycle in Jaraguá do Sul for municipal staff handling Administrative Disciplinary Processes (PADs). The first session gathered 123 participants and was led by auditors Geovane Eziel Cardoso and Vivian Chaplin Ganzo Savedra. The program aims to improve the investigation of possible infractions, emphasizing legal standards, evidence gathering, and fair hearings. Cardoso noted that fewer than 5% of Santa Catarina municipalities have formal internal oversight bodies, hindering transparency.

Separately, the Tribunal de Contas do Estado do Amazonas (TCE/AM) opened registrations for a series of free, in‑person courses in Urucará. The curriculum, taught by specialist Guilherme Barreiros, covers procurement planning and contract management, with sessions scheduled for August 2026. The courses target municipal employees, council members, students, and civil society, offering official certification upon completion.

Both initiatives reflect a broader effort by Brazilian state audit courts to strengthen public‑sector management, promote transparent governance, and build technical capacity among officials and the wider community.
