Brazilian state deputies boost youth sports programs in Mato Grosso and Amazonas

State deputy Thiago Silva (MDB) of Mato Grosso expanded the "Circuito Esportivo", a program that has served more than 3,000 athletes across a range of sports including table tennis, soccer, futsal, volleyball and indigenous football. Backed by the state government and local agencies, the initiative supports competitions, school teams and community projects aimed at health, discipline and social inclusion.

In Amazonas, state deputy Wilker Barreto (PSD) met with representatives of boxing and jiu‑jitsu academies to oversee equipment delivered through parliamentary amendment 031/2025. The gear, distributed to 40 academies in Manaus, is intended to broaden training opportunities for children and youths and to nurture future talent for state competitions. Both deputies emphasize sport as a tool for transformation and community development.
