Bahia and Sergipe launch multi‑million‑real public infrastructure upgrades

In the state of Sergipe, Governor Fábio Mitidieri inaugurated a fully modernized school and the second creche‑school of the Ameei program in Aracaju, with total investment exceeding R$ 10.8 million.

In Bahia, the state government delivered equipment worth R$ 11 million to community creches in Salvador as part of the Bahia Sem Fome program, aiming to strengthen the structure and food‑security capacity of 104 creches across the state. First‑lady Tatiana Velloso said the creches “promote not only cognitive development but also social protection and food‑security nutrition.”

The Bahia administration also began work on the “Estações Vivas” project, cleaning and preparing free‑area zones around BRT stations Hiper, Cidadela and Pedrinhas for future commercial, service and leisure use, with full operation expected by the end of 2026. Secretary Pablo Souza noted the model “conciliates social use of public spaces with opportunities for commerce and services.”

The first phase of the Pituaçu Metropolitan Park revitalisation was delivered with more than R$ 28 million invested, including LED lighting, a completely rebuilt ciclovia, a new bike‑parking facility for up to 250 bicycles, and five support points. Vice‑governor Geraldo Junior said the government is “returning to the population one of the capital’s greatest environmental assets with greater safety, accessibility and infrastructure.” A second phase, budgeted at about R$ 15 million, was announced.

In Camacã, the municipal market was re‑engineered with R$ 1.7 million from the regional development agency, adding a food court and 33 commercial boxes, while a tender was approved to convert the old municipal slaughterhouse into a modern meat‑processing plant, a project valued at R$ 1.6 million. These initiatives aim to boost local commerce, generate income for rural producers and improve hygiene and working conditions.
