Brazilian student and regional athletes secure major sporting victories

Student-athletes and regional sports teams in Brazil have achieved significant competitive success in recent competitions.

Students from the Álvares de Azevedo State School (EEFM) in Vilhena, Rondônia, secured a bronze medal at the national phase of the National School Games held in Pernambuco. The achievement marks a notable performance for the school and the Northern region in one of the country’s largest student sporting events.

In Mato Grosso, the municipality of Nossa Senhora do Livramento hosted a reception for local athletes. The Livramento Futsal team was honored for winning the 2026 Mato Grosso Cup in the Under-15 category after defeating Lucas do Rio Verde in the final. Additionally, the municipality recognized Paralympic athletes who earned 13 gold medals during the Mato Grosso State Paralympic Games held in Cáceres.
