Brazilian students face new admission deadlines for Prouni scholarships and UEM preparatory course

The 2026/2 round of the Prouni scholarship program will open a wait‑list for students who were not pre‑selected in the first or second calls. Interested candidates must confirm their interest on the Gov.br portal on 26–27 August 2026, with results announced on 1 September 2026. Those who are called must then submit the required documentation to the participating higher‑education institution to secure the remaining scholarship slots.

Separately, the Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM) is accepting applications for its free Pre‑Vestibular preparatory course for the second semester of 2026. Applications close on 7 August, and classes begin on 10 August in the university’s campus facilities. The programme offers 120 free spots, allocated between open competition and reserved quotas, and is targeted at public‑school high‑school students and recent graduates meeting specific eligibility criteria.
