Brazilian towns conduct animal health mutirões for horses, dogs and cats

The municipal animal protection department in Limeira organized a laboratory‑examination campaign for horses and mules housed at the Horto Florestal. Blood samples were taken and analyzed for hemogram and biochemical parameters to detect anemia, infections, organ issues and other health problems early. Veterinarians Glauber Luís Puzone and Gian Stefani Pacola explained that the testing helps define appropriate treatments.

In Guaramirim, the city held its second free spay‑neuter mutirão for dogs and cats on 8–9 May, under the Programa Pet Levado a Sério. Residents were required to fast their pets for eight hours before surgery, bring identification, and transport animals in crates or on leashes. The campaign aims to control the local pet population and ensure safe recovery with post‑operative care guidelines.
