Brazilian towns roll out free professional training programs
The municipality of Itanhém in Bahia opened registrations for the second phase of its Capacita Itanhém program, a partnership with the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI). The new round offers free courses for "Pedreiro Polivalente" (versatile bricklayer) and "Costureiro(a) de Moda Fitness" (fitness fashion sewing), with classes beginning on 20 August at the local Polivalente School. The first phase trained more than 40 participants in electrician and sewing courses.
In Marabá, Pará, the municipal Social Assistance Secretariat (Seaspac) together with the Bia Rabinovich Institute and SENAI launched a 64‑hour gastronomy course for 50 municipal kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and school cafeteria workers. The program, aimed at supporting the upcoming Municipal Popular Restaurant, starts on 10 August with an inaugural ceremony and practical sessions beginning the following day. Coordinators highlighted the need for qualified food‑service personnel in the region.
