Brazilian towns seek state funding to boost sports facilities and tourism events

The municipal government of Bragança Paulista in São Paulo met with the state Secretary of Sports, Claudia Carletto, to discuss ways to secure additional financial resources, expand institutional partnerships and modernise local sport venues. The talks focused on aligning future budget amendments, subsidies and itinerant programmes that would improve infrastructure and increase access to physical‑activity initiatives for children and youth in the region.

In Castro, Paraná, the municipal secretary of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Kasciano Morais, visited the state Secretariat of Tourism to strengthen cooperation on expanding the city’s event calendar. The municipality aims to build on recent successes such as a balloon‑festival, motocross, cycling and other sport‑tourism competitions, seeking state support that could attract investment, stimulate the hospitality sector and reinforce Castro’s profile as a regional tourism destination.
