Overview

In June 2026, the 41st Jogos Abertos da Juventude in Barretos drew over 4,000 athletes. Sorocaba sent a large delegation of 165 staff and athletes competing in 12 disciplines. Mainstream regional competitions also progressed. At the 68th Jogos Regionais in Tupã, Marília’s Yara Clube earned 25 swimming medals, and Limeira secured its first regional medal in karate. The games concluded with Indaiatuba winning its fifth consecutive title with 274 points. Guarulhos achieved a historic fourth-place finish, while Atibaia and Ubatuba also reached the podium.

In Guaratinguetá, rhythmic gymnast Beatriz Vieira won the Hoop, Clubs, and All-Around categories at the JEESP State Selection, qualifying for the Paulista Selection. Local table tennis competitors also achieved podium finishes in Lorena and Taubaté, while young gymnasts earned various medals at the Taça São Paulo de Estreantes in Suzano.
