Brazilian towns upgrade bridges and water supply systems
The municipal government of Marília, São Paulo, completed maintenance on the Ponte do Gasparoto on rural road MAR‑107 in the Dirceu district. Work included clearing river debris, cleaning the bridge structure and repairing the bridgehead to improve safety for residents, farmers and drivers, especially during heavy rains. The project was overseen by the city’s Secretary of Infrastructure, Luís Fernando Teixeira.
In Marilândia do Sul, Paraná, the city announced a major water‑supply expansion worth more than R$ 4.5 million, funded jointly with Sanepar and the state government. The plan adds a new well capable of producing over 2 million litres per day, along with more than 7 kilometres of pipelines, new pumping stations and additional elevation capacity that will roughly triple the municipality’s daily water output. Mayor Walmir Peres and Sanepar officials highlighted the project's role in addressing long‑standing water scarcity for local households and businesses.
