Brazilian transit departments implement new rules and celebrate milestones
In Mato Grosso, Detran-MT has begun applying a federal resolution from the National Transit Council (Contran) that simplifies the renewal of driver's licenses (CNH) expired for more than five years. Under Resolution No. 1.020/2025, drivers are no longer required to complete refresher courses or update exams, a measure intended to reduce bureaucracy and simplify the regularization process.
Meanwhile, in Rondônia, the State Transit Department (Detran-RO) is marking its 40th anniversary. The agency, which operates across 52 municipalities with 72 service units, highlighted its modernization and social programs, such as the ‘CNH Sem Barreiras’ initiative. This program provides adapted vehicles to allow people with disabilities to participate in driving lessons and practical exams free of charge.
