Brazilian workers earn highest salaries at ages 46‑55

A study by Senior Sistemas found that Brazilian employees reach their peak average monthly earnings of R$ 5,512 between ages 46 and 55. Younger workers (18‑24) earn about R$ 1,800 and experience the fastest salary growth, roughly 10.6% per year, while earnings gradually rise with experience, peak in mid‑career, and then decline after age 55 as many reduce hours, retire partially, or shift to less demanding roles.

ProftLab’s Eric Quintella estimated average monthly wages by age range, reporting figures such as R$ 2,700 for ages 25‑34, R$ 3,600 for 35‑44, and R$ 3,900 for 45‑54. The Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) recorded a real average monthly income of R$ 3,225 for all Brazilian workers in 2024, confirming the overall trend of higher earnings with experience and a modest drop after the mid‑career peak.
