Brazil's 2026 energy summits spotlight renewable projects in Rio and Vitória

At the Energy Summit 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, Maricá municipality showcased a range of renewable‑energy and low‑emission mobility initiatives. The city presented plans for a future solar‑farm project, an "Ecological Bus" program testing electric, hydrogen and ethanol‑fuelled prototypes, and promoted its technology park and tourism developments to attract investors.

In parallel, the Vitória Energy 2026 conference in Espírito Santo hosted panels on biomethane production, citing a Spanish model that converts poultry and swine waste into renewable gas, fertilizer and other by‑products. Speakers highlighted the high potential for biogas projects in municipalities such as Santa Maria de Jetibá and presented the Grupo Energisa biogas plant in Campos Novos as a concrete example of circular‑economy energy.

Both events aimed to advance Brazil's transition to clean power, encourage circular‑economy solutions and draw domestic and foreign investment into the country’s renewable‑energy sector.
