TIM authorized to use secondary 2.5 GHz spectrum in eight Brazilian states

Brazil’s telecom regulator Anatel granted TIM a secondary‑use authorization for the 2.5 GHz band (2577.5 MHz with 15 MHz bandwidth and 2602.5 MHz with 35 MHz bandwidth). The permission covers eight federative units – Goiás, Acre, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Tocantins, the Federal District and part of the North region – and is valid until 25 May 2031. It enables TIM to expand mobile‑network capacity in 18 cities, including Brasília, improving signal stability and data speeds for users and reducing network congestion. The authorization is secondary, meaning TIM must cease use if the primary license holder needs the spectrum and may face interference constraints.
