Brazil's Anatel extends IoT and M2M consultation deadline to September 2026
Anatel, Brazil's telecom regulator, announced that the deadline for submitting contributions to Subsidy Request No. 3/2026, which gathers information on the regulatory and competition aspects of machine‑to‑machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) markets, has been extended to 13 September 2026.
The extension follows requests from market participants citing the technical complexity of the topics. A technical workshop titled “Development of the M2M/IoT Ecosystem in Brazil” will be held on 13 August 2026 at 8 a.m. in Anatel’s headquarters in Brasília, bringing together industry representatives to discuss device connectivity, IoT solutions, vehicular connectivity, financial services, smart‑city initiatives and public‑service applications. The agency aims to collect detailed technical input to inform future regulatory decisions for Brazil’s IoT ecosystem.
