Brazil's animal protein firms showcase at SIAVS and WOFEX 2026
Unifrango, a Brazilian integrated platform for the animal protein chain, participated in SIAVS 2026, one of Latin America’s main protein‑animal fairs. The company displayed its ecosystem that links intelligence, logistics, commercialization and strategic solutions, gathering eight of its shareholders—including Avícola Pato Branco, Bello Alimentos and Grupo Pioneiro—at its booth. Unifrango, the fourth‑largest buyer of international maritime freight in Brazil and the third‑largest poultry slaughter group domestically, highlighted its capacity to process more than 2.4 million birds daily and its role as the largest one‑day chick producer.
At the World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2026 in Pasay City, Philippines, the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) and ApexBrasil launched a joint action to promote Brazilian pork, chicken, egg, breeder and duck products. Four agro‑industries—Frigoestrela, Aurora Coop, Coasul and SSA—met with importers and distributors. Philippine imports of Brazilian pork reached 214 kt in the first half of 2026, a 32.4% year‑on‑year increase, while chicken imports hit 142.3 kt, up 15.9%. ABPA president Ricardo Santin said, “The Philippines has become a central market for Brazilian pork exports and offers important opportunities for other products; the WOFEX presence allows us to strengthen existing relations and open new business fronts.”
