Brazil's ANP launches fuel station app while Colombia bans illegal fuel tanks
Brazil's National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) released an app called "ANP com VC – Postos" that lets consumers view detailed information on fuel stations, including inspection histories, fuel origin, and a quality rating from 0 to 5. Users can locate nearby stations, check corporate data, and submit complaints about price abuse or other irregularities directly to the agency.
Colombia announced stricter enforcement against vehicles equipped with unauthorized or homemade fuel tanks. Under the measure, such modifications are classified as serious safety risks, carrying fines of up to roughly 2 million Colombian pesos, possible suspension of the driver’s license for one to two years, and vehicle impoundment for up to a year. The rule applies to private cars, cargo trucks, and passenger transport vehicles, referencing Resolution 002394 of 2009.
