BNDES Move Motoristas reaches R$1 billion in approved financing for drivers
Brazil's National Development Bank (BNDES) announced that its Move Motoristas credit line has approved R$1 billion in financing for taxi and rideshare drivers. The programme, which targets drivers registered on more than 19 digital platforms, has assisted 10,179 professionals across all 1,015 municipalities in the country. The average loan amount is R$102 thousand per vehicle.
Financing terms include interest rates of up to 0.99% per month for men and 0.91% per month for women, repayment periods of up to 72 months and a grace period of up to six months. Loans are provided through a network of accredited banks such as Banco do Brasil, Caixa, Banrisul, Sicoob, Sicredi, Ailos, GM Financial, Volkswagen Financial Services, Banco Stellantis and Mobilize Financial Services. The programme is backed by a government guarantee via the Emergency Credit Access Program (PEAC‑FGI) and is funded by roughly R$30 billion in Treasury resources, aiming to eventually finance between 200,000 and 300,000 new zero‑kilometre vehicles.
