Brazil's Cardoso Moreira Receives New Mobile Health Unit from Federal Program
The municipality of Cardoso Moreira, Brazil, officially inaugurated a mobile health unit on 26 June as part of the federal "Agora Tem Especialistas" program. The ceremony was attended by Mayor Geane Vincler, federal deputy Daniela Carneiro, Ministry of Health officials including Rodrigo Alves Torres Oliveira, and local authorities.
The unit, known as the Carreta da Saúde, is equipped for tomography and ultrasound examinations and will provide specialist consultations, aiming to reduce patient travel to other cities and speed up diagnoses. It joins a national fleet of 80 mobile units that have served patients in 2,568 municipalities and covered more than 54,100 kilometres since October 2025.
Local officials highlighted the project's role in strengthening the municipal health network and delivering faster, more dignified care to residents.
