Brazil's CDHU launches housing loan renegotiation drives in Garça and Bauru

The municipal government of Garça partnered with the Companhia de Desenvolvimento Habitacional e Urbano (CDHU) to hold a two‑day mutirão on July 22‑23 under the Programa Nova Ação. The event offered simplified procedures for borrowers to renegotiate overdue installments, reduce outstanding balances, adjust payment schedules and convert loans to fixed‑rate installments. Participants only needed to bring original RG and CPF documents, and the service was provided at the municipal planning office.

Separately, the CDHU Mobile unit visited Bauru from July 14‑18, bringing a van equipped to assist borrowers with debt settlement using FGTS, contract renewal, installment review, boleto issuance, title transfers and legal guidance. The mobile service operated without prior appointments, though scheduling was optional, and included social workshops aimed at informing residents about their housing rights and obligations.
