Brazil's Central-West Gains $9.7 bn Credit Boost and Attracts Chinese Farm Machinery Firm

Mato Grosso do Sul secured R$9.7 billion in low‑interest financing through the federal Nova Indústria Brasil program, accounting for 15.2 % of the R$64 billion allocated to Brazil's Central‑West region. Since the program began in 2024, about 4,000 projects in the state have been funded, targeting innovation, sustainability, agro‑industry capacity, infrastructure, decarbonisation, bio‑economy, digital transformation and the health‑industry sector. The first tranche, Mission 1, delivered R$4.9 billion to 2,947 projects, while the state’s industry signed R$750 million in loans in the first quarter of 2024, aiming to create jobs and raise competitiveness amid the Bio‑Oceanic Route development.

Meanwhile, Chinese agricultural‑machinery manufacturer FM World is preparing to open Brazil’s first FM World dealership in Sinop, Mato Grosso, with an expected launch between August and September. The company also began preliminary talks with local officials and investors about establishing a manufacturing plant in the area, though no final decision has been made.
