Mato Grosso investment and credit expansion

Entities: Secretaria de Assistência e Desenvolvimento Econômico (Semadesc) · Conselho Estadual dos Investimentos Financiáveis pelo Fundo Constitucional do Â… · Superintendência de Desenvolvimento da Região Centro Oeste (Sudeco) · Mato Grosso do Sul

Overview

In late June 2026, Brazil’s credit cooperative Cresol opened a new agency in Cuiabá to serve cooperatives, agribusiness producers, local commerce and individual customers, signaling an expansion of financial services in Mato Grosso. At the same time, grain producer Girassol Agrícola announced a major eucalyptus planting project to meet growing biomass demand, highlighting diversification within the state’s agricultural sector.

By late July 2026, the momentum broadened as Mato Grosso do Sul secured a R$9.7 billion low‑interest financing package through the federal Nova Indústria Brasil program, part of a R$64 billion allocation for Brazil’s Central‑West. The funding targets thousands of projects across innovation, sustainability, agro‑industry, infrastructure, decarbonisation and digital transformation, reinforcing the earlier trend of increased investment. Additionally, Chinese agricultural‑machinery maker FM World prepared to open its first Brazilian dealership in Sinop, proposing a local manufacturing plant.

On 27 July, the Mato Grosso do Sul State Investment Council approved more than R$107 million in financing from the Central‑West Constitutional Fund, allocating the bulk to a rural line for machinery, aviculture, seed, soil correction and other projects, and a smaller share to a business line. The approval brings total FCO financing for the year to roughly R$1.27 billion, while Sudeco earmarked over R$3 billion for the state in 2026, further cementing the region’s investment surge.
