Brazil's Cerrado Mineiro coffee region showcases 2026/27 harvest at World of Coffee Brussels

The Cerrado Mineiro coffee region of Minas Gerais, Brazil’s first coffee denomination of origin, will attend the World of Coffee Brussels exhibition from June 25‑27, 2026. The region will present the first coffees of the 2026/27 harvest, offering cupping sessions, a Brew Bar takeover by Cafézal Milano, and specialty experiences such as a sensory barista‑cocktail pairing by Charlène Cabioch, a Turkish‑style demonstration by world champion Ivan Bilousov, and a roast‑master showcase by Ramon Gondim. Organisers aim to strengthen global relationships with buyers, roasters, importers and cafés while highlighting origin, traceability and quality.

Meanwhile, Emater‑MG has opened registrations for the 23rd Minas Gerais Coffee Quality Contest (2026 edition), accepting entries until September 3. The free competition, limited to a single Arabica sample per producer, follows Specialty Coffee Association scoring and emphasizes education, with results fed back to growers through extensionists. Prizes will be awarded in regional categories, including Cerrado Mineiro, and the event is supported by state agricultural agencies, the Federal University of Lavras, and the National Coffee Council.
