Brazil's CMN approves R$10 bn credit line for agribusiness innovation

The National Monetary Council (CMN) approved a new credit line of R$10 billion to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies in Brazilian agriculture. Created by provisional measure No. 1.374/2026, the line draws on resources from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT) and is managed through Finep‑accredited banks. Eligible beneficiaries include individual farmers, agribusiness cooperatives, legal entities and other rural producers, each of which may obtain up to R$30 million with a repayment term of up to five years and no grace period. The financing carries a composite interest rate that can reach 7.12 % per year, comprising the reference rate plus Finep’s remuneration and a capped bank margin.

Funds are earmarked for national‑made precision‑agriculture equipment, automation, field connectivity, digital production platforms, efficient input use and traceability solutions. The program aims to reduce credit barriers that have limited the diffusion of domestic agri‑tech and to boost productivity and sustainability across Brazil’s large farming sector.
