Brazil's CNBB rolls out new evangelization guidelines and digital clergy training initiatives

The National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) convened about 190 pastoral coordinators in Brasília from July 20‑24 to study the new General Guidelines for Evangelizing Action (DGAE 2026‑2032). Participants reviewed the final Synod document, explored the role of artificial intelligence in pastoral work, and prepared plans for implementing the guidelines across dioceses.

Separately, the Organization of Seminaries and Institutes of Brazil (OSIB) opened its National Update Meeting for Formators in Belo Horizonte on July 27. Led by Archbishop Ângelo Mezzari and priests Arnaldo Rodrigues and Vagner Pacheco, the forum examined the challenges and opportunities of digital culture and AI for priestly formation, urging responsible use of technology in ministry.
