Brazil's Detran conducts major vehicle auctions in Tocantins and Rio Grande do Sul
The Tocantins State Traffic Department (Detran‑TO) announced a public online auction of 305 vehicles in Colinas, scheduled for 25 June. The lot includes 218 scrap vehicles and 87 that can be returned to circulation, with minimum bids ranging from R$ 50 to R$ 5 000. Interested parties must register on the Sancar platform, and the vehicles can be inspected in person from 15 to 24 June.
The Rio Grande do Sul Traffic Department (Detran‑RS) similarly launched an electronic auction of 396 lots located in Camaquã, Pelotas, Encruzilhada do Sul and Canguçu. Auctions feature both conserved cars that may be regularised and scrap cars reserved for licensed dismantling firms. Initial bids start as low as R$ 600 for a 2012/13 Chevrolet Cobalt, with the agency urging buyers to read the edital, inspect the vehicles, and account for additional costs such as commissions, fees and repairs.
