Brazil's digital fraud surge sparks new verification tools and insurance legal debates

A sharp rise in AI‑driven digital fraud in Brazil has prompted companies to seek faster, more flexible defenses. Certta launched two products—Flow and Hubby—to let risk teams adjust security rules in minutes and centralise verification decisions. Chief Executive Jason Howard said the tools “return autonomy to our clients and deliver end‑to‑end protection,” while VP of product Marcelo Sousa highlighted that many firms still need weeks or months to update anti‑fraud measures.

The boom in electronic scams is also reshaping the insurance market. Legal experts note that contracts must now address sophisticated social‑engineering attacks and clarify coverage limits for digital‑fraud events. Insurers are revising policy wording, improving risk‑governance and coordinating with compliance and legal teams to manage the evolving threat.

Both developments reflect the broader need for integrated, real‑time responses to protect revenue and consumer confidence as fraud attempts climbed 89% in recent reports.
