Brazil's digital infrastructure expands toward Norte de Minas and Northeast

Brazil is seeing a strategic shift in digital infrastructure, with regions like Norte de Minas and the Northeast emerging as potential hubs for large-scale data centers. This movement is driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence, which has increased the demand for data processing, storage, and transmission.

In the Northeast, the rise of these digital hubs is supported by competitive costs and an abundance of clean energy. A debate hosted by Valor Econômico and O Globo in Fortaleza highlighted the connection between technological transition and energy transition, focusing on how public policy and renewable energy can foster sustainable regional development and job creation.

Nationally, the Redata special regime is stimulating investments in data processing centers. Industry estimates suggest this new phase of infrastructure development could attract up to R$ 1.5 trillion in investments across Brazil.
