Brazil's Education Aid Program 'Pé-de-Meia' Announces August Payment Schedule

Brazil’s Ministry of Education (MEC) confirmed that the fifth installment of the Pé-de-Meia student assistance program will be paid in August 2026. Payments are staggered by the students’ birth month, with dates ranging from August 24 to August 31.

The installment, known as the Incentivo‑Frequência, aims to keep students enrolled and attending regularly. Eligible pupils aged 14‑24 receive up to nine monthly payments of R$200 for regular high‑school enrolment, while Youth and Adult Education (EJA) participants receive four semester payments of R$225. Receipt of each payment requires a minimum attendance of 80%.

The program, part of the broader Bolsa Família initiative, targets the most financially vulnerable learners, helping cover tuition, books, transport and food costs. MEC officials said the August disbursement will alleviate the financial strain faced by many students amid Brazil’s challenging economic context.
