Brazil's Enem 2026 registration opens Monday, exams set for November

The Ministry of Education (MEC) released the official edital for Brazil's 2026 National High School Exam (Enem) on 22 May. Registration opens online on Monday, 25 May, and runs until 5 June, with the R$ 85 fee payable by 10 June. The two‑day written test will be held on 8 November and 15 November.

The Institute of National Studies and Educational Research (Inep) plans roughly 10 000 test‑centres across the country. A key change is automatic pre‑registration for public‑school students in the final year of high school; they will be entered automatically from school data but must confirm their participation, choose a foreign‑language option and request any accessibility resources via the participant portal.

Enem remains the primary gateway to Brazilian higher education, feeding results into the Unified Selection System (Sisu), the University for All Programme (Prouni) and the Student Financing Fund (Fies). The exam also again serves as a certification pathway for candidates aged 18 or older who meet minimum scores.
