Brazil's ENEM offers expanded university entry routes and new digital study tools

The National High School Exam (ENEM) in Brazil serves as the gateway to higher education through several government programmes. The Unified Selection System (Sisu) allocates more than 274,000 places at public universities based on ENEM scores, while the University for All Programme (Prouni) provides full and partial scholarships at private institutions for low‑income students with a minimum score of 450. The Student Financing Fund (Fies) offers loans to qualifying candidates, and the Pé‑de‑Meia Licenciaturas incentive supports teacher‑training students with monthly stipends.

To prepare for the exam, a range of free digital platforms have been promoted. Apps such as TRIEnem and Study Rats let students practice past questions, receive instant feedback and compete with peers. Government‑run services like MEC Enem and MEC Idiomas provide personalized study paths, AI‑assisted essay correction, and language‑learning resources. The Ministry of Education has also extended the registration deadline for ENEM 2026 to the upcoming Friday, with the test scheduled for 8 and 15 November across the country.
