Brazil ethanol prices rebound amid Central‑South sugarcane harvest

Brazil's ethanol market closed the week of 8‑12 June with modest price gains, ending an earlier downtrend. Hydrated ethanol rose 0.37 % to an average R$ 2.2247 per litre, while anhydrous ethanol, used for gasoline blending, increased 0.70 % to R$ 2.5284 per litre.

The recovery reflects market response to the advancing sugarcane harvest and accelerated milling in the Central‑South region, which continues to boost supply. Spot price at the Paulínia hub reached R$ 2,344.50 per cubic metre, up 0.67 % from the previous day. Analysts note that although the high harvest volume pressures prices, the recent uptick suggests the sector is seeking a new equilibrium between abundant supply and steady demand.
