Brazil's FenaBio conference focuses on bioenergy transition and new fuels

The second edition of the FenaBio conference, part of the 32nd Fenasucro & Agrocana fair in Sertãozinho, São Paulo, will be held on 12–13 August. Its theme, “Bioenergy 2050: the transition to a decarbonised energy future,” will address how changes in the energy matrix affect plants, suppliers, rural producers, investors and fuel‑consuming companies.

The programme is divided into four pillars; the first tackles sustainable mobility and the gradual replacement of fossil fuels, while the others explore the challenges of the energy transition, new business opportunities and technologies that can expand renewable energy production. Topics include the growth of biofuels, transport decarbonisation, use of agro‑industrial waste and the economic viability of new energy routes.

FenaBio aims to bring together regulatory and technological discussions with investment decisions in the productive sector. The broader fair expects over 600 brands, roughly 3 000 national and foreign products, and buyers and representatives from more than 80 countries involved in sugar, cane and corn ethanol, biodiesel, food, paper, cellulose and logistics. Attendance at the fair is free with online pre‑registration; participation in the FenaBio conference requires a paid ticket.
