Brazil's fitness sector expands through apps and major Ph.D Sports‑Evoque merger
Training‑app platforms are becoming strategic tools for Brazilian gyms, linking instructors, members and managers on a single digital hub. The apps enable personalized periodisation, real‑time progress tracking, communication, and data‑driven management, which gyms say improves member experience, reduces cancellations and supports growth.
In parallel, Ph.D Sports and Evoque have completed a merger that combines Evoque’s 50 existing locations in five states with Ph.D Sports’ more than 225 gyms. The combined network, now exceeding 275 units and strengthening its presence in São Paulo, aims to build a nationwide fitness ecosystem that maximises operational efficiency and attracts investors. CEO Viktor Rossa said, “We’re building more than a network of gyms… an army of five‑star generals.” The consolidation is expected to enhance negotiating power with suppliers, expand the student base and accelerate further national expansion.
