Brazil's industry pushes forward with automation and digitalization
Mitsubishi Electric Brazil says the country's industrial sector is rapidly adopting automation, connectivity and energy‑efficient technologies. The company highlights growing demand in food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive, packaging, logistics and consumer‑goods firms, noting that automation is now seen as a productivity and competitiveness strategy rather than merely a labor‑saving tool. It points to regional shifts toward the Centre‑West and Northeast, while acknowledging obstacles such as high upfront costs, integration with legacy systems and a shortage of skilled technical workers.
Meanwhile, the 27th Construsul International Construction Fair in Porto Alegre (4‑7 August 2026) underscores a parallel digital transformation in construction. The event will feature more than 300 exhibitors and about 35 000 visitors, focusing on industrialised building processes, AI‑driven project management, high‑performance and energy‑efficient materials, and sustainability solutions. Organisers expect roughly R$900 million in business transactions, reflecting the sector’s push for productivity and waste reduction through technology.
