Brazil's Ministry of Development launches data economy report, trade panel and BIM construction program
The Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) released three major initiatives aimed at modernising Brazil's economy. It published a legal‑technical report to support the National Data Economy Policy, outlining governance models for data sharing among government, businesses and citizens and highlighting the need for coordinated regulation and pilot projects.
The ministry also unveiled the Camex360 platform, a new dashboard that aggregates 25 years of decisions by the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) and its Executive Management Committee (Gecex), providing searchable resolutions and statistical analyses of tariff changes, trade‑defense measures and special‑regime exemptions.
In addition, MDIC, together with the Brazilian Development Agency (ABDI), launched the "Construction 4.0 – BIM in Practice" program, offering free, specialised consulting to small and medium‑size construction firms across eight states to adopt Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies, with a pilot budget of R$ 1.9 million.
