Brazil's Ministry of Education begins Pé-de-Meia payments

The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) is scheduled to begin distributing August installments of the Pé-de-Meia program on Monday, August 24. These payments correspond to school attendance during the months of May and June.

To qualify for the funds, students must have maintained a minimum school attendance rate of 80%. The disbursement period will run until August 31, with specific payment dates determined by the beneficiaries' birth months. The program also allows for the payment of 2026 enrollment fees and previous attendance installments for students whose data has been recently corrected by educational networks.

Under the program, regular high school students receive monthly incentives of R$ 200. Students enrolled in Youth and Adult Education (EJA) are eligible for a R$ 200 enrollment incentive plus R$ 225 for attendance. The Pé-de-Meia program is a financial-educational incentive designed to encourage school permanence and completion among public high school students.
